I saw Angus & Julia Stone live at the Palais Theatre the other night. They were incredible. I know every lyric to every song they have ever done and i love them... so seeing them live was one of my dreams and they managed to live up to them all. They did a different version of their song "Private Lawns" where Julia played a trumpet it was wonderful. So if you don't already know them go look them up :)

Muck Up Day...I went as a slightly skanky Queen of Hearts (Alice in Wonderland)I bought an outfit off Ebay for $40/50ish and then bought stripey socks and satin glovesi had to wear a slip underneath so i stapled playing cards to the bottom of itIt was a pretty good day although we couldn't do much or we would be banned from Valedictory so all i managed was to drench people in metallic confetti and containers of glitter which left the school very shiny :)

On Saturday Night i went to the local footy club for a

"Michael Jackson Tribute Night"

was very hesitant about it but it ended up being a really good night

i wore a lacey black and blue glove as my costume haha

I went shopping and bought big purple fake flower on elastic for $17

when i got home my sister had bought fabric for me which happened to match perfectly

so i made a skirt

Tara has spent the whole weekend sewing and shes ended up with

a leotard, a 3/4 sleeved low back top and a high wasited skirt

all made out of the black and purple material

they remind me of American Apparel type clothing

I also forgot to mention that at formal Zach and I won cutest coupleso we got free movie tickets :)

It was so so so much better than last years

Zach's mum bought me a corsage

I watched a fantastic movie yesterday

It was called The Reader

I cried at least 10 times during it

It starred Kate Winslet (she was fabulous)

Everytime she laughed it made me think of Titanic, which tells me I’ve probably seen that movie one too many times

Its about a love affair between a 15 year old and a 30(?) year old post war in Germany

Umm yeah I don’t know how to describe it in ways to make you want to see it but please go rent it now!

I had taken it when the bushfires were pretty bad and had turned the sun red

I remember seeing a red glow in my bedroom which alerted me to the sun

When i went outside to take a photo of it

The sting of the smoke stung my eyes and so i took this photo without looking

There are two things that i did not think i would ever do

1. Watch all seasons of Gossip Girl

2. Read Twilight and enjoy it after my hatred of the movie

I now take all my preconceptions back

One.

I really love Gossip Girl

The acting, the clothes, the lifestyle they 'live' and the people

it is awesome

Two.

Twilight is an addiction

i've always thought it was this cult vampire style book (haha)

i am not convinced that it is an unusual love story that i can't put down

But

I still hated the movie

Blake Lively's Hair in this scene was stunning...

i want to try recreate the look for my formal

i doubt it will work but may as well try :)

The dreaded GAT

I did they GAT today

For those of you who don't know what the GAT is see trusty wikipedia

Basically its a big waste of time

It was pretty boring but i tried my best with it

But also we all had a bit of fun with 'Project Clooney'

In 2009, a student organised movement brought the GAT to the attention of the national press, by suggesting that students make references to actor George Clooney in their answers.

"i think we should all mention George Clooney in at least one of our written responses.

imagine what the fuck VCAA will be thinking when thousands of people include irrelevant references to George Clooney when talking about diamonds or chocolate or whatever the fuck they're putting on this years GAT."

Anyway in this GAT there were two writing pieces

One on material possessions

and

One on bees

I made 1 semi relevant reference explaining that his movies could cure your boredom

Everyone has been facebooking about their references and here are some of my favourites from my school:

" A bees life was similar to that of george clooney, work hard in summer on blockbusters like oceans eleven and then quieten down in winter and do some indy films"

haha I think it was a very good idea

I have two major obessions at the moment

1. I'm currently making a movie out of photobooth images

to the song 'Bruises' by chairlift and i'll upload it when i'm finished

I have used images that i took one after another so it makes us look like we are moving

about something crap that had happened to them starting with Today and ending with FML

very cringy

some examples:

Today, I bit my boyfriend's neck. I felt something squirt into my mouth. Turns out I had just popped a pimple on his neck. Into my mouth. FML

Today, I was out to dinner with my little sister when this elderly woman sitting alone started choking and I rushed over and started doing the Heimlich Maneuver, She's now pressing charges on me for assault. I'm a paramedic. FML

Jeux d'enfants (Love Me if You Dare)

Is my favourite french movie

(closely followed by Amélie)

I watched it late one saturday night on sbs

i went searching for it but it was sold out everywhere i looked

So i spent a ridiculous amount of money renting it from the video shop

But I finally got my hands upon a copy when i was in France

It has no english subtitles but i know it all off by heart and it doent's bother me

It is so gorgeous and made so typical of the french style of movies

I don't know what else to say about it...

see it ASAP

even if only to perve on Guillaume Canet (ahh)

But beware he is taken.
